Nach der Expedition „Cities of translators Montréal“ im vergangenen Mai setzen TOLEDO und LCB die Erkundung der québecischen Literatur fort. Heather O’Neil, Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui, Rodney Saint-Eloi, Kevin Lambert und Sherry Simon werden diesen Mai nicht wie geplant am Wannsee verbringen können, alle fünf kommen dafür im Mai 2021. Die lange Nacht auf drei Bühnen in der Veranstaltungsreihe „Casino“ wird nun zur virtuellen Tour de Québec. Sonja Finck, Frank Heibert und Cornelius Wüllenkemper nehmen den Gesprächsfaden auf – erweitert um eine Materialsammlung von Fernbegegnungen, Stadterkundungen und Essays, u.a. der Verleger Benoît Virot über die Polemik um die französische Adaptation des Romandebüts von Kevin Lambert oder Cornelius Wüllenberger, der uns mit O-Tönen von Naomi Fontaine, Jospehine Bacon und Melissa Mollen eigenwillige Wege in die Innu-Literatur eröffnet.

Literatur aus dem Reservat – Fiktion und Wirklichkeit „echter Indianer“ im heutigen Québec
Sonja Finck und Frank Heibert geben erste Einblicke in ihr TOLEDO-Journal rund um die Übersetzung des Panoramaromans „Stories aus Kitchike – Der große Absturz“ (erscheint im Verlag Secession) von Louis-Karl Picard-Sioui und führen ein Gespräch mit dem Autor.

Minderheiten in Québec und ihre Literatur
Der Journalist Cornelius Wüllenkemper führt ein Video-Gespräch mit dem Montréaler Autor Rodney Saint-Eloi, Gründer des Verlages „Mémoires d’encrier“, sehr profiliert u.a. in der indigenen Literatur sowie der Literaturszene haitianischen Ursprungs.

“The Lonely Hearts Hotel” von Heather O’Neill – anglophone Literatur in Quebec
Sherry Simon, Autorin des Buches „Cities in Translation“, im Gespräch mit Heather O’Neill über ihre Erfahrungen als anglophone Autorin in Montréal und ihren Roman „The Lonely Hearts Hotel“ sowie mit Gesine Schröder, die das Buch für den Aufbau-Verlag übersetzt.
